The EU Blue Card is a great option for highly skilled professionals. It has extra benefits and flexibility such as easier movement within the EU and a direct pathway to permanent residency. However it does have more requirements than a traditional work visa, such as a degree from a recognized University, and a job with an annual minimum salary, etc.
